Neil Sutera Dip FP
Neil began his financial planning career in 1987, working at a small practice in the western suburbs of Melbourne. During the past 30+ years, Neil has held a variety of roles in financial services, including Responsible Office, Compliance Manager and Business Development Manager at a large financial services firm. Neil joined a small boutique financial planning business after, where he held a directorship position and the role of Responsible Officer, providing financial advice to high net worth individuals and family businesses. He holds a Diploma in Financial Planning, is registered with the Tax Practitioners Board – tax (financial) adviser and a member of the AFA (Association of Financial Advisers).
In mid-2009 Neil resigned his position and established his own financial planning practice.
Having held a variety of roles, Neil has witnessed and experienced the ever-changing landscape of the financial services industry and the ever increasing volatility in the local and global financial markets, from many perspectives, but especially as an adviser to a broad range of wealth demographics and as an investor and business owner. He brings to the table a vast knowledge and experience in all financial markets and economic conditions.
The ever-increasing complexities and regulatory obligations have made it difficult for sole practitioners to operate effectively and efficiently, so Neil decided to seek to partner with an established financial advisory firm that shared his values and vision, and who would be a good fit for his clients. That firm is Apprise Advisory. Having known Tim for nearly 20 years, impressed by what he has achieved with his business and understanding Tim’s core values, the partnership was a perfect fit.
During his early 20’s Neil developed a keen interest in Ontology, Psychology, Personal Development and Human Behaviour. He indulged this passion through study and a variety of courses and workshops; hence Neil is also a professional Life Coach and has been coaching individuals since 2009. A member of the Life Coaching Institute and the International Coaching Guild, Neil is passionate about helping people get the best out of themselves. Neil is proud to say that he was one of the first licensed financial advisers to blend life coaching with financial planning within a financial services practice.
‘’When it comes to personal financial wealth, there is a psychology and mindset around money. This needs to be explored and addressed before one can commence the journey to achieving their financial goals and objectives’’
A devoted family man, Neil is happily married, and with three sons, spends most of his personal life doing ‘’family stuff’’, reading, writing and keeping himself mentally and physically fit and healthy.
